In place of an update this month for Vein, Ramjet Studios released Devlog 16 and updated players on what the developers have been working on in the past month, along with things that will eventually be coming with update 0.020.
Of course, bug fixes for the early access open-world survival game were one of the priorities through the last month, and Ramjet expects to have a few more hotfixes before the next update. Additionally, certain balance adjustments were made, including things like higher XP gain for higher-difficulty lockpicks.
Some of the bigger things discussed include a new system to see the damage on cars (which freed up the rust to be used as its own). Players will also be able to hunt boars and rabbits, new wiring hints, character creation changes, and more.
Those are things that Ramjet Studios has already done — however, the developer also spoke about what it’s paying attention to in the near future. These are things that might make it into Vein with update 0.020, but it’s still up in the air if they’ll be done in time. These include the following:
- Improved server browser settings
- More crafting systems, including tanning racks, ore crushers, sewing benches, and reloading benches
There are also several more changes on the technical side, but players will be happy to know that rendering distances look better than ever, and there’s a new anti-aliasing preset on the way.
