Today, indie developer Ramjet Studios just released a significant update for its multiplayer zombie survival game Vein, adding in a bunch of new features. Update 0.014 adds a lot of requested features, including a new horde system, the Redford Community Center and plenty of quality-of-life implementations.
Like in most other zombie games, Vein’s horde system introduces a large number of enemies bunched into a group, causing the difficulty to increase with each new member that joins the horde. These gatherings occur when you do a number of things, including making noise, being near corpses or rotted food, or being in large groups of people.
For maps, alongside the addition of the Redford Community Center location, the bus garage has been filled up, sheds and outdoor furniture have been added across the map, trees pop in less, and roads have been smoothed significantly. One of the most exciting changes is the wiring system.
With this new feature, Vein players can build generators, batteries, fridges, and freezers that can be wired to the new power outlets int eh buildings. Generators will also help you utilize power by wiring them into junction boxes, so they are usable without using electricity.
Numerous bug fixes are also being implemented in Vein’s 0.014 update. These range from item duplication exploits to fixing consciousness damage and concussions when PvP is off. You can see the full list of fixes by taking a look at the bug fix list on the Steam page.
This is the second massive update Vein has received in as many months, with the previous 0.013 patch adding plenty of customization options, like changing your hair and look, and lots of new content.
Vein is currently free to play on Steam in early access. When it’s officially released, it will also come to Xbox Series X|S.
