From now on, the Samsung SSD 990 Pro will be the SSD in every PC in VCT Americas. This is the most powerful Gen 4 NVMe SSD from Samsung, making it an easy choice for VCT Americas. There’s also a Heatsink version specifically made for the PlayStation 5 to help the system stay cool. This is perfect considering Valorant is now on consoles.

Additionally, Samsung SSD will start several matches in the league with Samsung SSD Match Start. There will also be recaps from the group that feature the biggest moments from these matches.

Matt Reshke, the Product Lead of VCT Americas at Riot Games, shared his thoughts on the partnership:

“The only thing better than kicking off a new season for VCT Americas is the opportunity to welcome new supporters into the fold, so I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Samsung SSD join our roster of world-class partners of VCT Americas. Samsung SSD and their commitment to creating industry-leading products aligns perfectly with the competitive spirit of our pros and passionate fans, and we’re hyped to have them on board for what will be an incredible 2025 season for VCT Americas.”

This isn’t the first time Samsung SSD has partnered with Riot Games. The brand has been part of League of Legends esports for years as the official memory partner for the MOBA. It also powers PCs in other regions for Riot, including the CLG.

VCT Americas kicks off its third season tomorrow, January 16. There are several changes this season to keep things fresh for viewers and as stress-free for players as possible. Some of the changes include lengthening the season to give players a break between tournaments. Fans can watch the VCT Americas 2025 kickoff trailer below:
