Riot Games had quite the exciting announcement at the grand finals of VCT Masters: Bangkok — it revealed the newest Valorant Agent, Waylay.
Waylay will be a Radiant Duelist from Thailand. Her abilities revolve around her ability to manipulate light, and she can turn into light itself.
Her four abilities are Refract, Light Speed, Saturate, and Convergent Paths. As a Duelist, her job is to get onto a site and create space around the map, so keep that in mind when looking at her kit.
Refract creates a light on the floor when activated. When reactivated, Waylay will go invulnerable and travel back to the light.
Light Speed is a dash ability. It has to be equipped, and then players can choose how far to dash. By firing, they can dash twice in quick succession. Alt firing will only make Waylay dash once. What’s unique here is that Waylay can use the first dash to travel upwards, similar to how Jett can move around.
Saturate is a throwable ball of light that explodes when it hits the ground. Nearby enemies are hindered, which slows their movement and their weapon.
Convergent Paths is Waylay’s ultimate ability. After equipping the ability, Waylay can fire and create an afterimage of herself. This will project a beam of light that will hinder other players while giving Waylay a massive speed boost. This beam of light will expand as time passes.
