Valorant has several different tournaments and championships, and one of these is Game Changers 2025. This year, Game Changers is switching up how it does things with new regional slot allocations and an updated path to qualify in the Americas.
Game Changers focuses on diversity in Valorant esports, bringing together players from around the world regardless of background or gender. Players can learn more about Game Changers and some of its history here.
In 2024, there will be different spots for teams around the world. Each region has the following number of places available:
- Americas: 4
- China: 1
- EMEA: 3
- Pacific: 2
The four teams coming from the Americas include one from each of the Game Changers regional qualifiers in North America, Latin America, and Brazil. The last place will be decided by a brand new tournament, the Game Changers America LCQ.
The GC Americas LCQ will take the second-place teams from North America, Latin America, and Brazil, giving them a second chance at going to Game Changers 2025. This will be an in-person event in São Paulo at the Riot Games studio.
It’ll last two days, featuring a single round-robin stage where each team will play the other. On the second day, the top two teams will face off in a best-of-five match.
Game Changers isn’t the only way that Valorant esports seeks to be inclusive. Just last year, a Japanese team of seniors was created, recruiting players over the age of 59.
The 2025 season of Valorant esports has had a strong start, with many of the regional kickoffs ending and crowning champions already.
