Alice Games, the developer behind the upcoming Vacation Cafe Simulator, has updated fans on the development progress of the cozy simulator over the past two months.
This development update, discussed in the third Dev Blog from Alice Games, goes over what the developers worked on in May and June. These updates are a blend of new content and revamps of current content in the build version of the simulator.
To start with, the cooking process has been fine-tuned and is smoother than ever. Additionally, several systems that deal with how players interact with the world around them — such as buying ingredients, interacting with the kitchen, and more — have been reworked.
Other improvements include the following:
- Customer NPCs interact more realistically
- Main town area is more detailed
- Sound design is more immersive
- Game balance is adjusted to be both challenging and cozy
The past few months also saw several new developments, including a tutorial and quest system, ambient NPCs, and a saving and loading system. Additionally, new furniture, kitchen equipment, and artwork options will let players really immerse themselves in the ’90s Italian vibes.
According to Alice Games, Vacation Cafe Simulator is getting closer to a test build, and a lot of the development that’s left is polishing and tweaking the sim.
Vacation Cafe Simulator is a simulator focused on running a cozy cafe in Italy in the ’90s. Besides gorgeous landscapes and cafe management mechanics, players will also be able to explore the world around them to find new ingredients and opportunities for their cafe.
There’s currently no release date for Vacation Cafe Simulator, though it is coming out on PC sometime in 2025. Fans can wishlist it on Steam now.
