It’ll launch in English for the global audience on June 26, 2025, for iOS, Android, and PC via Steam. Pre-registration is also already open.

The game is part of a massive multimedia franchise that includes anime, manga, stage plays, and tons of merch, figures, and assorted toys. It’s one of the most popular franchises of its kind in Japan.

Yet, it took quite a long time to get an English localization, as the original game was released in Japan at the beginning of 2021. All we got so far is the spinoff minigame Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Party Dash, which Cygames possibly launched a while ago to test the market.

Now, fans of the franchise can finally play the real thing.

Pre-registering grants you the following:

  • 3,750 Carats (25 Scouts)
  • 100,000 Monies
  • 50,000 Support Points
  • 45 Alarm Clocks
  • 45 Toughness 30s
  • 30 Goddess Statues

The franchise focuses on a rather unique branch of the mix of girls and animals that is very popular in Japan, horsegirls (Uma Musume literally means “horse maiden” in Japanese).

The player acts as the trainer of girls who are born to run and race, with the objective of unleashing their potential and winning as many races as possible to turn their greatest dreams into reality.

The girls also moonlight as idols, so the game also features concerts, because of course it does.

The personification of racehorses is actually likely part of the cause of the game’s success in Japan, where horse racing is quite popular. The girls even carry the names of legendary horses like Special Week, Gold Ship, Mejiro McQueen, and more.

Below you can check out a trailer introducing some of the characters.

We also have some screenshots, including the Steam version.
