Today, Urban Games showed off a first look at the new graphics, gameplay systems, and core mechanics for its highly anticipated upcoming management simulator, Transport Fever 3.
The first episode of early insights for Transport Fever 3 is all about the environments native to the sim, including map generation, terrain types, and climate zones. These features not only serve to shape the overall gameplay but also present fresh challenges for players to overcome as they start to master the mechanics.
The map generation system has been completely redone, now taking advantage of node-based technology to create regions that blend seamlessly into one another in the same map and making each playthrough feel different. The in-game map editor lets you do just about everything, from importing heightmaps to sculpting your own landscape from the ground up.
The newest installment in the series will also introduce fully featured day and night modes, new physical skies, dynamic lighting, and reflective water surfaces to make for a more immersive atmospheric in-game world. Full mod support and plenty of customization options will also be available upon launch.
If you’ve never played the Transport Fever series before, it’s a sim that features fully simulated settlements and industries that all grow based on the player’s decisions. Each settlement can grow into a major city if given the chance, and they all have over 250 different transportation devices for players to experiment with.
Upon release, it will feature three gameplay modes: Tycoon Mode, Campaign Mode, and Sandbox Mode. These modes were chosen by listening to community feedback and watching how players enjoyed previous games best.
Transport Fever 3 will be released in 2026 on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. For more news on similar games, check out the Worldwide Rush demo and the upcoming Seafarer: The Ship Sim.
