Last month, the developers discussed the new terrain and map generator in Transport Fever 3, with a focus on the sub-arctic environment. For the second episode of the first look series, it is all about the new cargo, industries, and economy systems in the game, which will cover some of the latest production chains and industries coming to the series.

When you start a settlement, you’ll only need a few basic products to grow. As the population increases, so too does the volume and variety of demanded goods, which requires stages of production. The industry system will react to the needs of your settlement by opening new facilities, making sure supply meets demand, which will all vary depending on the environment you’re playing in.

In total, there are over 30 industries in Transport Fever 3, with individual settlements requiring up to 12 different end products each. The new cargo system also puts players in full charge of all parts of the delivery chain for the very first time, and they’re now able to use a range of new tools when it comes to production.

Warehousing, industry boosters, and specialized loading facilities are all available to help you maximize the benefits of your existing routes. Efficiency will also play a large role in how you move cargo, as there is a huge risk versus reward element in the game. Delivering on time versus the happiness of the settlement from an early delivery is just one of the many things players will have to think of when it comes to maximizing their economy’s growth.

Transport Fever 3 is scheduled for release in 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. For more news on similar games, check out the Worldwide Rush demo and Train Sim World 5.
