Today, Dovetail Games and Grump Dog Games officially released Train Sim World 6: The Great Western Express Remastered.
Train Sim World 6: The Great Western Express Remastered is an updated version of the original route add-on and was released as a free update for existing owners on February 6, 2026. The new route significantly overhauls the original, bringing it to modern Train Sim World standards with improvements to visuals, audio, and gameplay:
Great Western Express Remastered features rebuilt scenery, including Southall depot and the Paddington mail platform, updated ground materials and foliage, and the latest volumetric skies. Royal Oak and Westbourne Park have also been added with London Underground branding.
A new 2017-era timetable is included, featuring the full GWR working timetable and a wider range of freight services, potentially offering over 1300 playable services with compatible add-ons. BR Class 43 HST and BR Class 166 trains have received various upgrades, like wheel motion blur and sound enhancements, while the HST adds “guard mode” functionality and interactive elements.
Last but not least, audio enhancement and layering functionality have been added, with the former featuring an overhauled soundscape, new rail singing sounds, and audible passenger announcements, while the latter allows for AI traffic and playable services from content like the Class 484, Class 350, and Class 220 Voyager.
Train Sim World 6: Great Western Express Remastered is available on all platforms that support Train Sim World 6, including PC (Steam & Epic Games), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
