Today, Train Sim World 6 revealed a first look at its upcoming Frankenbahn: Stuttgart – Heilbronn route, which was previously announced during the Dovetail Direct Summer 2025.
Train Sim World 6 Frankenbahn: Stuttgart – Heilbronn transports train fans back to the year 2000, where you’ll be able to traverse the Enzbrücke prior to its 2006 replacement, experiencing it all from backdated motive power. The route consists of terrain all the way from the banks of the Neckar and into Baden-Württemberg suburbia, featuring a 51 km section of the Frankenbahn between Stuttgart Hbf and Heilbronn Hbf and 15 detailed stations.
One of those stations includes Zuffenhausen, a multilevel station with a flyover that runs through the middle of it and an unusual postmodern architectural style. The route also adds a handful of new trains and services, which can be seen alongside the official trailer below:
Trains:
- DB BR 140 – A classic electric locomotive built in various forms from the late 1950s through to the early 1970s
- Wittenberger Steuerwagen – A Cab Car that adds equally classic passenger stock, with multiple control systems compatible with different types of locomotive.
- BR 111 & 363 locomotives – Coaches that feature toggleable Train Faults, including Wiper Failures, Stuck Passenger Doors, and more.
Services:
- BR 111 Dosto services from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn
- BR 425 services from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn
- Mixed freight services from Ruhr Sieg Nord
- Shunting substitutions using the BR 294 locomotive from Train Sim World 6: Deluxe and Special Editions
Like the other expansions before it, this route features the usual collectibles to unlock, like one that is a nod to Stuttgart’s notable car manufacturing history. The Tier 2 Mastery Scenery Tile also unlocks an animated projector board to represent Stuttgart Festival of Animation.
Train Sim World 6 Frankenbahn: Stuttgart – Heilbronn is set to launch soon for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for $39.99. For more information on this and other new routes, like the TfW Class 142 or Cargo Line Volume 5, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
