Train Sim World 5 is back with another expansion pack, this time aimed at UK train fans, adding in the longest route in the United Kingdom. Measuring in at approximately 100 miles long, the West Coast Main Line: Preston – Carlisle extends through England’s northwest countryside circa 1986.

Between Preston and Carlisle, you’ll be able to ride through Lancaster and the coastal Morecambe Branch Line while on the West Coast Main Line, featuring plenty of rural scenery, including the Shap Summit, which comes in at 279m above sea level. You’ll also come across landmark buildings at Lancaster, Carlisle, and Preston Station, which have been fully recreated as per their condition in the late 1980s, as is the M6 Motorway and the retro traffic seen driving along it, such as at Tebay.

What is a new local in Train Sim World 5 without a proper engine to traverse it with? When purchasing this DLC, you’ll get the Class 87, which you can see a preview of exploring the landscapes down below:

Train Sim World 5 West Coast Main Line: Preston – Carlisle features the Conductor Mode, Fast Travel, and Route Hopping functionality that fans of the series will know well. The route also includes the collectible mint cake and posters, fully modeled signal box interiors, and improvements to the Class 101 DMU, most notably the latest in-game suspension physics.

Train Sim World 5: West Coast Main Line: Preston – Carlisle route is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC (Epic Games Store & Steam) for $44.99. This is a separate purchase from the base game, which is required in order to play the DLC.
