Dassault Rafale for MSFS 2024 Gets New Screenshots and Development Update as MSFS 2020 Port is Still Possible

Microsoft Flight Simulator Rafale

Azurpoly published a development update for its upcoming Dassault Rafale, also mentioning that while the aircraft is in development for MSFS 2024, an MSFS 2020 version is still possible.

“We wanted to give you a look at how development of our Rafale – officially licensed by Dassault Aviation – is progressing.

As we mentioned before, the bulk of the remaining work lies in building the aircraft’s unique systems and displays. These are very specific to the Rafale and have to be developed entirely from scratch.

On the other hand, we’ve made huge progress on the cockpit modeling and texturing since the last update. A few areas are still unfinished, but since we haven’t shared any interior screenshots yet, we thought this was the right time to show the current state of things. Keep in mind some details are still likely to change before the final release.

On the exterior model, we are really happy with how it’s turning out. From the beginning, our goal has been to maintain a consistent level of detail across the entire airframe. That was already our aim with the Jaguar, but this time the overall level of detail has been pushed even further.

From a developer’s perspective, while MSFS 2024 was initially a real challenge to work with, it is now clear that the platform offers far greater possibilities across the board. Most noticeably, its modular architecture allows us to use much more detailed 3D models while still achieving better optimization. For players, that means both improved visuals and performance, the best of both worlds.

That being said, we are listening to the community, and the idea of a MSFS 2020 port is still on the table.”
