Katowice Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets New Screenshots and Development Update

Drzewiecki Design revealed more work-in-progress screenshots of the upcoming Katowice Airport (EPKT) in Poland.

The post also included the usual brief development update from the developer.

“EPKT Katowice MSFS is advancing quickly, with solid progress across both airside and landside areas.

The terminal remains the central focus and is being modeled intensively, layer by layer, to capture its distinctive modern architecture. Surrounding facilities are expanding at pace: Hangar No. 3 is now complete, with refinements underway on Hangars 3 and 4, while the GA hangar has been delivered. Work has also begun on the airport hotel, a key landmark visible from both airside and the public side of the airport.

Supporting infrastructure is filling out as well. A new technical building has been placed on the parking area, along with the second radar installation. Across the apron and service zones, a wide range of objects are being added: a cargo high-loader for heavy aircraft such as the 777, 767, and 747, and new container-style office units distributed around the airport grounds.

On the landside, attention has shifted to details that shape the passenger experience. Curbs, sidewalks, traffic islands, parking canopies, and exit gates have all been modeled and placed in front of the terminal. Custom signage has been added, while spotter platforms — popular features for enthusiasts — are now complete and in position.

Lighting is now present across the entire complex. Apron light masts have been installed and distributed, while the parking lots are illuminated with custom streetlamps for both realism and safety. Access roads to the GA hangar, Hangar 3, and Hangar 4 are now complete, ensuring accurate ground layout across the airport.

Each addition brings the scenery closer to replicating the full atmosphere of Katowice: a busy regional hub with strong cargo operations, modern passenger facilities, and a blend of commercial and enthusiast activity.”
