Flight Simulation developers shared news today, including scenery, aircraft, and a sound package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020.
Before we move on to the news, below you can check out a story that received its own individual coverage.
You can find all the flight simulation news below.

TFDi Design shared an update on what’s coming for its McDonnell Douglas MD-11.
We take a look at the overhauled exterior, including the PW engines. The cabin has also been reworked.
In the cockpit, the manual landing gear handle and oxygen test buttons will be added, together with immersion items like openable cockpit windows.
The systems will also be improved as follows.
- Overhauled PROF behavior (consistent, smooth descents)
- Overhauled step climb behavior (multiple S/C and T/C points, better positioning/handling of them)
- ATO waypoints
- Custom oil, vibration, and EGT simulation (for both P3D and MSFS)
- Various display detail improvements
- And, of course, a whole slew of bug fixes and more
The developer also expects the versions for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and for both simulators on Xbox to be ready “a few weeks” after the update. A firm release date has not been announced.
The Extended Simulation Package will also be released soon, including the following features.
- Over 160 failure scenarios are already implemented, with more still in progress.
- There is a maintenance inspection and repair process, extending immersion beyond being instantly and automatically told what’s wrong (you can still do that, however, if you’d prefer expedience over in-the-moment immersion).
- There is a routine service option (think engine oil, fire bottles, etc.) that doesn’t require an aircraft overall (but that option exists as well).
- Each airframe has a unique and varied maintenance history with a local log created any time maintenance interacts with the aircraft.
- There are settings to control the likelihood and nature of the failures you can experience to facilitate immersion while maintaining compliance with IVAO or VATSIM online flying requirements.
