Atlanta International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets New Screenshots – Should Release Before Christmas

Orbx revealed new screenshots of the upcoming Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL) coming for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020.

The company also shared a statement from the developer, Matteo Veneziani, who explains the work that remains to be done and mentions that the goal is to release this massive airport before Christmas.

“This is the third and final development update before release. This update focuses on the Delta TechOps zone and the control tower.

Delta TechOps, also known as Delta TOC, is an iconic part of Atlanta Airport and the largest airline maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility in North America. I’ve recreated this area with true 1:1 accuracy, just like the rest of the airport. Every pipe, air-conditioning unit, and rooftop detail has been carefully modeled based on real-life references. Nothing is random; everything matches reality. This part of the project took me an incredible amount of time and effort, and I’ve done my best to capture the atmosphere and unique character of the location.

Unfortunately, I can’t show the airside portion yet, as the ground poly is still missing.

In terms of overall development status, there’s still a lot of work left, but I’m finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The main tasks remaining are:

My goal is to release this before Christmas, which will also mark nearly two years of development. It’s still a bit of a way off, but my focus is, and will remain 100% on quality.”
