Airbus A340-600 by Aerosoft and Toliss for Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets New Screenshots

Aerosoft released on its Discord server a series of screenshots showing the flight deck of its Airbus A340-600 developed in collaboration with Toliss.

The screenshots show before and after views of the color correction process, and we also get an explanation.

“Today, I want to show you the artwork details we have included. The main focus here is colour correction, and I don’t know if you were aware of that. But did you know how many different colours a cockpit actually has? The reason is simple. Some parts and panels stay in the aircraft for longer than others. This is sometimes due to technical reasons, a configuration change during an operator change, or modified versions. This results in little colour differences here and there, with old used parts next to brand new, freshly painted parts. I have also added two not colour-corrected pictures that we took as a reference, just to show how many different colours there are in these small areas alone.

The rest of the screenshots mainly focus on these colour differences and the corrections we implemented. Yes, there are dirt layers included here and there, but these are definitely not the final result. The dirt will be given an extra touch in the next few days/weeks. This is usually one of the final steps in the process. We’re getting closer! You only have to look at the real aircraft to see how dusty and dirty it is, so there is still a long way to go.

By the way, a famous name is with us in the dev team for the cockpit textures. You all know him: @Atarium . He’s not primarily responsible for the textures themselves; he’s the man for colour correction and adding dirt. If you’re familiar with his work, you’ll know that he pays great attention to detail. I love it.

There is one screenshot with a red line showing the colour-corrected parts of the top segment of the base texture at the bottom of the pedestal.”

Fsdeveloper forum user wideloadwhitford has been releasing new screenshots of Concord–Padgett Regional Airport (KJQF) in the United States.

For now, we don’t yet know when the airport will be released or where, but it certainly looks promising.
