Before we move on to today’s news, here’s a flight simulation story that received its own individual coverage.
Freeware Osaka Itami Airport Gets New Life in MSFS 2024

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has had an Osaka problem for the longest time. Basically, no issue-free hand-crafted version of Osaka Itami Airport (RJOO) has been available until now.
The only payware version of the airport, by Metropolitan Airport Development Brothers, was for MSFS 2020, and the developer quietly ceased operations a long time ago. The airport isn’t even available for sale anymore, so you either purchased it when it was fresh, or you cannot get it.
There is another version for MSFS 2020, the freeware one by KADO, which is actually awesome, but Kado himself has stepped away from development, and while his version remains available, he never converted it for MSFS 2024.
Luckily, that changes now, as user avis created a mod that makes Kado’s airport fully compatible with MSFS 2024 and even improves on it, giving it its rightful place within the splendid photogrammetry implemented by Microsoft with the latest Japanese world update.
It can be downloaded on Flightsim.to, and of course you need the original version by Kado for it to work, but both are downloadable for free.
The fact that no big payware developer stepped up to make Osaka Itami is certainly weird, considering how relevant and spectacular the airport is, but now we finally have a solution, and it’s free. What’s not to love?
