Flight Simulation developers shared some interesting news today, including the tease of a relevant German airport and the release of a rather nice free one for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The Maddog is Coming for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 With Free Upgrade

Leonardo announced that its Fly the Maddog X package including the McDonnell Douglas MD-82 will be upgraded for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Those who purchased the MSFS 2020 version will get a free upgrade.

The developer has also been working for several months to bring the aircraft “up to ‘FS2020 standards’ in terms of 3D modeling, textures, and sounds.” This specific upgrade will be an optional paid expansion.

Airbus A340 for Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets New Image

Virtual Techart Design shared a new image of the Airbus A340 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The project has been in the works for older sims all the way since 2014 but was then put on hold and resumed in 2023.

Hannover Airport Teased by SoFly

If you follow this column regularly, you have already seen the image above yesterday, yet we still did not know what it portrayed besides the fact that it’s a new airport in the works at SoFly.

Since this kind of tease represents a challenge I cannot turn down, I spent some time today researching, and I found out that this is part of the terminal of Hannover Airport (EDDV) in Germany. Looks like SoFly is bringing us to Lower Saxony next.

It’s the 8th airport in the country, so it’s certainly a good one to have.

Roland Garros Airport Released for Free for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Ftsxfreelw released the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version of its Roland Garros Airport (FMEE) serving the French island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean.

It’s available for free on Flightsim.to and free is always a great incentive.

Poprad–Tatry Airport Released for X-Plane 11 and 12

Chudoba Designs released Poprad–Tatry Airport (LZTT) in Slovakia for X-Plane 11 and 12. It’s currently available on Simmarket.
