Puzzle Roguelike The Bestest Alchemist Delayed

Indie games studio Tabi Entertainment has announced that The Bestest Alchemist, its upcoming adorable puzzle roguelike, has been delayed until Q1 of 2026.

The Bestest Alchemist put players in the role of an aspiring alchemist, Charlotte, who’s attending the Alchemist’s Academy.

Players will solve match-3 puzzles that have their own special spin. Instead of needing to move the pieces to those beside them, players can move any of the pieces anywhere on the board.

They’ll have a timer to create each ingredient in their potions, and some recipes require certain combos or specific requirements that add another level of complexity. Learning certain recipes grants players bookmarks, and those bookmarks have passive abilities that can change the game.

Players will progress from an apprentice entering the academy to a master, complete with The Bestest Alchemist title.

While The Bestest Alchemist has been delayed, Tabi Entertainment did reveal that development is progressing steadily.

This is actually the second time the game has been delayed. It was first delayed until December 2025 because of player feedback and areas to improve. This added more content for the developers to create, causing the first delay.

Now, developers want to ensure that The Bestest Alchemist is at the standards they set for it before it goes out to players.

With that, there’s some new art from Tabi Entertainment:

There’s also a demo available on Steam that players can enjoy in the meantime.
