Bandai Namco hosted the grand finals of the Tekken World Tour 2024 in Shibuya, Tokyo, and the winner of the Tekken 8 tournament has been crowned.
The cup went to Jeong “Rangchu” Hyeon-ho from South Korea, who triumphed over Atif “Atif Butt” Ijaz from Pakistan with a pretty dominating score of 3-1.
Interestingly, the top 8 included three players from South Korea and three from Pakistan, plus one from the US and one from Saudi Arabia.
If you want to check it out, you can enjoy the grand final match on-demand in the recording of the tournament.
Bandai Namco also showcased the content of the winter update including the new photo mode and character customization. Season 2 this spring will come with major battle system and balance updates and new moves for every single character.
We already knew that the developers would not reveal a new character at the tournament, and today we get the confirmation that the reveal will come at The Game Awards on December 13.
Yet, they did drop a tease. The trailer shows a helicopter with a kiss mark on one of the Hellfire missiles. Fans believe this is teasing the coming of Anna Williams.
Of course, we can’t know absolutely for sure, but it does look pretty locked in. We’ll know more when The Game Awards air net week.
