Today, FireFly Studios officially announced a remaster for its hit RTS city builder, revealing that Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition is coming to PC on July 15, 2025.

The modernized version of the beloved 2001 strategy game is set to bring forth plenty of improvements while also staying true to what made fans fall in love with the original. Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition will upgrade both visual and gameplay elements while also using the source artwork, music, returning voice talent and veteran developers from the 2001 version.

The remaster will add eight new playable units, four new AI lords, several additional campaigns, two new historical campaigns, four Sands of Time skirmish trails, and a brand new co-op trail. You can take a full look at the reveal trailer and new features coming in the remaster right down below:

Currently, Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition is only planned for a PC release via Steam. You can add it to your wishlist now, and there is also a short demo you can try out in anticipation of its release later this year.
