The Esports World Cup has unveiled yet another title coming to the competition in 2025, and it’s Street Fighter 6.
This isn’t the first time that Street Fighter 6 will join the Esports World Cup. It’s the fifth game to be announced, following Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Warzone, Free Fire, and Honor of Kings.
Street Fighter 6 already has a robust esports scene outside of this specific global competition, making it a shoo-in fighting title. Major tournaments for the fighting game already exist at the Capcom Pro Tour and EVO.
There are still 16 games to be revealed for the Esports World Cup 2025. Announcements about these will happen every few days for the next 37 days, with most happening before Christmas. Games that have been included in the past are Apex Legends, DOTA 2, Overwatch 2, Tekken 8, Rocket League, League of Legends, EA Sports FC, Fortnite, Rainbow Six Seige, StarCraft II, Teamfight Tactics, PUBG, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
There’s no guarantee that these other titles will be included – the Esports World Cup may announce new titles.
The first Esports World Cup was this year, and the competition prides itself on being one of the biggest gaming events. With a prize pool over $60 million, 21 games, and over 1,500 players participating, it’s easy to see why.
The eight-week-long festival during the competition is open to fans as well. It takes place in Saudi Arabia, which also happens to be where the Olympic Esports is being held next year.
