Today, Paradox Interactive announced that Stellaris: Cosmic Storms, the next epic new DLC installment in its 4X grand strategy title, would be September 10, 2024 to PC. The expansion centers around a phenomena stronger than civilizations and empires sweeping through the galaxy, known as the Cosmic Storms.
You can check out a full trailer for the release date and what you can expect from gameplay changed and additions at the bottom of the page. There will be eight different types, listed below:
- Electric
- Particle
- Gravity
- Magnetic
- Radiant
- Stardust
- Shroud
- Nexus
The above listed phenomenon will replace the existing Storms, which will spawn randomly throughout the map. Alongside this, a new origin will be added. Storm Chaser are an empire made of people that seek to push themselves beyond their own limits. They believe enlightenment is found in engaging with the greatest force the universe has to offer: the Cosmic Storms.
Three new civics (Astrometeorology, Storm Devotion, Environmental Architects) and two precursor narratives are also coming with Stellaris: Cosmic Storms. You’ll be able to Discover the stories of the Ancients, vanished masters of the storms: Weather Manipulators and the adAkkaria Convention of Benevolence. Upon completion of these, you’ll unlock a new relic for each.
Technologies dedicated to storms include Galactic Community Resolutions, Anomalies, Arc Sites, and Weather Forecast Map Mode. Lastly, a new Galactic Weather Control ascension perk, that makes it possible to create cosmic storms with science ships.
