Steam is hosting its City Builder and Colony Sim Fest throughout the next week, and there are over 1,000 games in the genre on sale for players to peruse.

The genre is pretty expansive, including casual, more relaxing games like Littlewood, to intense management games like Republic of Pirates.

For those who enjoy the casual side of builders, titles like Terra Nil, SimCity 4, Grow: Song of the Evertree, Minami Lane, Fabledom, and SteamWorld Build are great options. There’s also Go-Go Town, Dream Town Island, and Pioneers of Pagonia for players on the hunt for something cute.

Players who want to be challenged with more strategic gameplay can check out Cities: Skylines (and its sequel that gets quite frequent free and paid content), Manor Lords, Ixion, Frostpunk 2, Norland (which has frequent updates to improve the indie sim game), and Ratopia.

Some of the most unique titles include:

Of course, if there’s a genre, there will be a deckbuilding game in it, and there are several in city builders. Some good options include Cardboard Town and SuperTaxCity.

There are also several games included that have tower defense mechanics, like Miglorn and Goblins of Elderstone. There’s also an idle desk option in Desktopia: A Desktop Village Simulator and a throwback to the classics in SimCity 3000 Unlimited.

The Steam City Builder and Colony Sim Fest will last until March 31 at 10 am PST. Fans looking for a new title can also check out the trailer for the event below:
