Starsand Island, the farming/life simulation game that’s inspired by anime from developer Seed Lab, is coming to players soon, and Seed Lab is doing a bit of preparation with a last closed beta test and a seven-day countdown event to the Early Access launch.
The news comes just a day after Seed Lab announced that Starsand Island will be released in Early Access on February 11, 2026. Between now and then, the last closed beta test, the Set Sail Test, will take place, and players will learn more about what’s coming with the game during the seven-day countdown event.
The Set Sail Test is the last chance developers have to hear from players about the state of Starsand Island before it’s released in Early Access. However, while it’s in Early Access, Seed Lab has noted that players will play a role in shaping how Starsand Island develops.
For those who aren’t in the Set Sail Test, more news is coming on February 5. Starting then, Seed Lab will release new information about what’s coming with Starsand Island every day for the seven-day countdown event. This will include new content and features, and even special rewards. Players can keep an eye on the official Steam community hub and/or the official Discord server. Some of this content could center around more collaborations, like the My Time at Portia crossover, which have been hinted at in the past.
At the same time, the demo for Starsand Island has been removed from Steam as the game comes closer to its Early Access launch.
Those interested in joining the Set Sail Test should join the Starsand Island Discord to keep up with opportunities to sign up. According to the announcement, there will be a sign-up form and other announcements about the last beta soon.
