Cozy Life Sim Game Starsand Island Hits 295% of Funding Goal as Kickstarter Ends

kickstarter funding reached Starsand Island

Seed Lab’s latest game, Starsand Island, has officially ended its Kickstarter campaign, raising 295% of the original goal as it opens up a late pledging period.

Originally, Starsand Island’s Kickstarter goal was $100k. It went on to raise almost $299k at the time of writing.

While the Kickstarter has concluded, there is an option for late backers. This could hit the last stretch goal, which is set at $300k. This would add flight vehicles and a hoverboard as two traversal options.

The stretch goals that were hit so far include the following:

Starsand Island is a cozy life simulation game set on the star-shaped island known as The Star in the Sea. The sandbox game has plans to give players plenty of options when it comes to how they want to live their virtual lives.

Whether they want to focus on farming, exploring, fishing, or more, players have the option to do so. The story is a tale as old as farming-sim time: the player is coming back to their hometown after life in the city just didn’t work out.

Part of what makes Starsand Island stand out is the gorgeous anime-style graphics. The characters are already unique from visuals alone, though the campaign description on Kickstarter explains that they each have their own deep backstories.

The late pledge period will run until June 14, according to a Kickstarter post. Fans can also wishlist Starsand Island on Steam for more information leading up to its release.

Starsand Island is planned to fully release on PC in Q4 of 2025. There are also plans to release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, though it’s not clear if it’ll be released at the same time.
