Earlier today, Epictellers Entertainment officially launched the Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfinder: Afterlight.
Impressively, it only took Starfinder: Afterlight 80 minutes to reach its Kickstarter goal of $87,774. Donors didn’t simply stop there, though, as the total currently sits at $269,801 from 4,449 backers with 29 days left in the campaign.
Anyone interested in getting an Early Bird copy of the game simply needs to contribute €30 with the Akitonian Citizen tier, which offers a digital copy of the game. Those who donate at higher tiers can even be involved in the creative process of early access, with rewards such as closed beta access, the opportunity to name an NPC, the inclusion of a backer’s cat in the game, and custom portrait options designed for those who want to leave a personal mark on the universe.
For those who may not have heard of Starfinder: Afterlight, it is a story-rich, turn-based RPG video game set in the Starfinder TTRPG universe, and based on the Second Edition rules. Players are tasked with taking on the role of a space crew member whose captain has gone missing.
To save the galaxy from annihilation, they must gather their team, search the stars, face enemies armed with magical powers and advanced tech in turn-based combat, using one of seven ancestries and six classes. General features include:
- Romance your crew – all companions (plus some surprises)
- Multiple difficulty modes – from story lovers to tactical experts
- Multiple play styles – recruit mercenaries or fly solo
- Mod support to create your own adventures
- 40-60 hours campaign
Starfinder: Afterlight is coming to PC in Early Access in 2026, with the Kickstarter campaign set to run until November 6, 2025. For more information on this and other RPGs in the works this year, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
