Stardew Valley Update 1.6.9 Released Both on PC and Finally on Consoles

Today, Stardew Valley developer ConcernedApe revealed that the next big content patch for his hit cozy farming simulator was now available. The 1.6.9 update features a boatload of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and even some new content and features, which you can see listed below:

What is interesting about the release of Stardew Valley update 1.6.9 is that it was not only released on PC but also on console. While it may sound like standard protocol for a game to receive an update on all of its versions, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch players haven’t actually received an update since 1.5.6.

For context, Stardew Valley 1.5.6 was released for consoles all the way back on December 21, 2021. There have been hotfixes since then, but nothing as significant as what PC versions of the game have received.

Back in August, ConcernedApe acknowledged this delay in a tweet, apologizing for the delay and letting fans know he was working hard on getting it out. In a similar tweet, he also stated that he will never charge for DLC, and for fans to screencap him and call him out if he ever does.

It is also worth noting that anyone starting a new farm, as of the update on the Meadowlands, should leave their door closed on day 1 until a patch can be implemented to keep chickens from disappearing.
