Today Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games showcased four new ships (or one plus three variants, if we want to be precise) to celebrate Anvil’s day at the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2954.

The first ship is a new concept ship, the Anvil Paladin, a gunshop that is quite heavily armed, with a remote quad S5 turret and two remote dual S4 turrets, on top of six S4 missile racks.

It can be operated by a crew of one pilot and 3 gunners, albeit the pilot can control the two S4 turrets directly if they so wish.

Its price starts at $317.20, but we should always keep in mind that ship purchases with real money are an option for those who want to support the development of the game. All the ships mentioned in this article will become available for purchase with in-game credits.

You can see what it looks like below.

The second ship is the Anvil Terrapin Medic, which does exactly what it says on the tin.

It’s a medical dropship that basically serves the function of your friendly neighborhood Trauma Te… ahem… ambulance. Just look at one of the liveries in the gallery below and you’ll know what I mean.

It includes a Tier 2 medical bed and it’s well armored, albeit it’s very lightly armed, with only a dual S2 gimbal.

Its real money price starts at $244,

We then get to take a look at two Anvil Hornet Mk II variants, which follow the existing ones for the original Hornet, the F7C-S Ghost and the F7C-R Tracker.

The former is a stealth variant, while the latter is a recon variant with a long-range radar.

Both start at$201.30. You can check them out below.

If you’re unfamiliar with Star Citizen, it’s a crowdfunded project directed by Chris Roberts of Wing Commander fame. It’s a multiplayer sandbox space simulator exclusive for PC.

The crowdfunding total has just passed $755 million in crowdfunding ($755,056,848 at the moment of this writing) and counts 5,443,776 registered users.

Of course, many of them aren’t paying customers, as they register accounts to enjoy Free Fly Events like the one that is currently active to celebrate the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2954, allowing everyone to try the game and its ships without spending any money until December 5.

A few weeks ago, we also got to see plenty of features and tech coming to the game, on top of the overall vision for version 1.0, which will be the full release of the game, albeit it doesn’t yet have a date.

The game will also have a single-player campaign titled Squadron 42, starring an exceptional cast of famous actors including Mark Hamill, Henry Cavill, Gary Oldman, Liam Cunningham, Gillian Anderson, and more. Recently we saw plenty of gameplay and learned that it’ll release in 2026.

Since the project has been in development for over a decade, you can also see how Squadron 42 evolved since its first reveals.

Full disclosure: the author of this article has backed Star Citizen’s crowdfunding campaign.
