Today, GSC Game World released the latest update for its hit survival FPS, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which adds a new storyline, locations, characters, and weapons to the game for free.
The new storyline for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Stories Untold brings to life eight new missions, as players must discover the mysterious transmission that gives stalkers headaches, nosebleeds, and even hallucinations. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to help the stalkers and scientists figure out what’s going on, with plenty of decisions that increase the amount of agency players will have on the story.
Location-wise, there are seven new or revamped locations to explore, including the potential new hub in the Burnt Forest, which will draw the stalker’s attention, so you can expect the whole area to become more populated. The update will also feature six new characters, each with their own unique backgrounds, and a brand new weapon: the GP37V2, a suppressed tactical rifle.
Technical fixes include bug fixes, NPC behavior adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements, like the option for manual saves on higher difficulties and uncoupling expedition mode from Master difficulty.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC (including Game Pass), starting at $59.99. The game was announced for PS5 a few months ago, but no exact release date or window has been provided. The original Stalker Trilogy is also set to get a next-gen update at some point, so be sure to keep your eye out for more news on that.
