At the end of the SNK World Championship 2025, the developer teased the announcement of new games, although fans will have to wait for a while longer.
Chief Producer Yasuyuki Oda and Producer Joshua Weatherford walked on stage after the award ceremony, and mentioned that more character DLC for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will come next year, after Mr. Big from Art of Fighting, who will come in early 2026.
That being said, that’s not all, as new game announcements will come next year as well, defined by Weatherford as “some real hype stuff.”
This follows the confirmation that a new Art of Fighting game is coming, alongside a recent teaser. The game technically doesn’t count as “announced” just yet, so it’s very likely that’s what Oda-san and Weatherford are teasing.
Following the reveal of Chun-Li from Street Fighter for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves during the first day of the competition, we also saw more trailers and videos dedicated to her during the second and third days. You can watch them below.
Last, but not least, we also heard her release date, which is very close, November 5.
Incidentally, at the end of the livestream, we also got the announcement of the SNK World Championship 2026 with $4.1 million un prize pool. The schedule and location details will be announced later this year.
The Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves tournament for this year was won by Laggia, while Lauyagami won The King of Fighters XV, Masaton won Samurai Shodown, and Sou won Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior.
They brought home, respectively $1.5 million, $500,000, $250,000, and $50,000.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is currently available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s the sequel to the old and glorious Fatal Fury series, known in Japan as Garou Densetsu (Legend of the Hungry Wolf), which has been dormant for many years before this latest release.
