Stardock Entertainment has released a free v1.5 update for Sins of a Solar Empire 2 players, The Diplomatic Repercussions, introducing a rework of the game’s diplomacy systems, Quick Start options, better AI, and more.
The major focus of v1.5 is diplomacy. Now, players have more options when it comes to making allies (and, subsequently, enemies). Players will also be able to trade influence and items.
AI players also have more flexibility, taking more factors into play when making decisions about their partners. They also react to changes more than before, changing their decision-making depending on the changes that have occurred in the game.
Sins of a Solar Empire 2 v1.5 also rebalanced the game’s economy. The goal of this was to bring more of an interstellar economy instead of planet-based economies. There’s also more orbital traffic as shuttles travel from planet to planet, adding to the feel of an intergalactic setting.
Research and Tech trees also got a redesign, making them easier for players to navigate. There are also several requirements that have been lowered.
Players have a new Quick Start option, which lets them set their own starting conditions. There are Basic, Quick, and Advanced options.
Players who use mods will notice quite a few changes. Not only is the menu faster than before, but there’s also more information available at a glance. Now, players can see the ratings and category information from the start.
Additionally, there’s now a download/install bar to give players a sense of how much longer a mod needs before it’s ready to go.
