Seafarer: The Ship Sim Releases Into Early Access

Astragon Entertainment has officially released its naval simulator Seafarer: The Ship Sim into Steam Early Access.

In its current Early Access state, Seafarer: The Ship Sim offers over 30 hours of gameplay. This can be experienced via the Story Mode (Act 1) or Quickplay Mode, each offering its own unique features and gameplay elements.

The two current playable factions are the Crescentport Logistics and Tide Guard, with a total of six unique ships ready for you to command. You can take a quick look at what to expect via the release trailer below:

In Seafarer: The Ship Sim, players will be given control over various ships and have the opportunity to join a handful of different factions. Depending on your choice, you’ll embark on specific missions, like cargo transportation, fire-fighting on open waters, high-stakes rescues, and treasure recovery.

Ships vary from nimble tugboats to massive freighters, each of which are fully interactive and explorable. You’ll be able to conduct maintenance, operate heavy machinery, and even take control of water cannons to battle onboard fires in some of the more challenging missions that take place in the game.

The simulator also allows you to create and customize your character to make your own personal captain. Thanks to a combination of Unreal Engine 5 and NVIDIA WaveWorks 2.0, the weather will feel dynamic and realistic, making the water as unpredictable as it is beautiful.

Seafarer: The Ship Sim is available now on Steam for $19.99, discounted from its usual rate of $24.99 to celebrate its release. For more info on the upcoming roadmap and other ship simulators, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
