Rare just showcased the content coming with Sea of Thieves Season 15, dubbed “Wild Things.”
The new season will be arriving for all platforms as a free update on February 20, 2025.
In this newest update to this 2018 action-adventure title, players will need to test themselves against some of the sea’s most ancient creatures, with two ancient Megalodons coming alongside Wild Things.
The first creature is the Feared Redmaw, an extremely aggressive shark that can set fire to and explode any shit that it bites thanks to the sheer amount of heat it can build. It is one of the deadliest ancients in the game and can end a fleet all by itself with its vicious attacks.
Barnacled Dread is on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to its abilities, focusing more on defense with its coral plate armor. Just because it has a solid shield doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pay attention to its electric bite and ability to cause Ocean Crawlers to appear on board.
As an emissary of the Hunter’s Call, you’ll be able to fly their flag and build your reputation by completing Raid Voyages in their name. Each voyage you complete in Sea of Thieves Season 15 will earn you rare and specific loot based around the Hunter’s Call.
Sea of Thieves Wild Things will also add plenty of ambient wildlife alongside the big boys, as the trailer teases seagulls, jellyfish, and lizards. While some creatures and items aren’t confirmed for mid-season quite yet, we do know that Wild Boars and throwable Hunting Spears will be available at some point in the future as a part of the update.
Sea of Thieves is currently available on PC, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S (including Game Pass), starting at a price of $39.99.
