The aircraft will launch in July on the developer’s own store, the official marketplace, and Contrail, priced at $19.99. A single purchase will grant you versions for both simulators.

The announcement was accompanied by a few screenshots that you can find below.

The developer mentions that this is the most ambitious aircraft it has ever developed and a “true flagship” for its team. For that purpose, Got Friends is working with working directly with Stefan Langer, two-time World Gliding Champion, to make sure that everything is as it should be.

It’ll include the most powerful version of the LX Family Avionics Suite ever seen in MSFS, including multi-map support and flight planning, flight plan import control, dashboard layout customization, FLARM support, and integrated multiplayer towing.

The electric motor is fully simulated with a custom interface, energy monitoring, braking logic, retractable mechanics, motor status logging, and an auto-scrollable event history.

Got Friends adds that this is an “expert-level” aircraft that will require study and training to master. Here’s what you can expect in terms of features:

  • Includes both MSFS 2020 and native MSFS 2024 versions
  • Two wingspan variants: 15m and 18m
  • Official collaboration with Stefan Langer
  • Custom LX Family Suite: Avionics with dashboard customization, FLARM, persistent settings, flight planning, multiplayer winch/tow support
  • Fully simulated electric motor with dedicated Powerplant Interface
  • Interactive cockpit: Circuit breakers, bug wipers, wingflex, switches, status indicators
  • Ballast system with working fill rates, discharge control, and visual effects
  • Surface drag realism: Bugs, rain, and grime affect performance
  • Realistic soundscape using WWISE, including optional headphone simulation
  • Canopy jettison, full hotkey compatibility, and hardware integration
  • Built-in support for native winch launches and multiplayer aerotowing
  • Adjustable settings on-the-fly like Adverse Yaw, Ballast Levels, Surface Contamination and more!

The developer also mentions that it’ll update its Discus-2c with the same LX Family avionics suite used for the AS 33 Me, a complete coding rewrite, new systems, and massive improvements across the board. It’ll also come with an MSFS 2024 upgrade that will be free at launch.

Speaking of free, GotFriends will also launch a freeware Towing Expansion including the Wilga 35A, Ford F-150, CyberTruck, and several updated stock Asobo aircraft.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is available for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It’s worth mentioning that Fenix’s aircraft are PC exclusive.

Its successor, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, is also available for the same platforms. If you want to see the massive visual difference against Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, you can enjoy our video and screenshot comparison.
