Today, Jagex launched a complete overhaul of player-owned housing in RuneScape, introducing expanded customization options, new social features, and a reworked Construction skill capped at level 120. This update is part of RuneScape’s ongoing 25th Anniversary Road to Restoration initiative and is available now.
The new housing system introduces over 650 decorative items, five house styles, customizable room layouts, and free furniture placement. Players can personalize flooring, furniture skins, and interior frames, and unlock decorations themed around achievements, bosses, and quests.
Players can now use new features like the Music Box, Jukebox, Weather Vane, and Shroud System to customize the atmosphere of their homes. The update also introduces Homesteads, letting up to five players connect their houses, share facilities, and build communities together.
Players can now display their achievements with new stands for weapons, boss trophies, archaeological finds, Skillcapes, and prestigious capes. The update also adds several new utility features:
- Travel hubs: A Teleport Nexus, Jewelry Box, Player-Owned Ports Access Table and Dungeoneering Monolith streamline transportation across Gielinor.
- Combat preparation: Players can install potion, crystal/combo and tea cauldrons, an armor repair stand, Slayer Helm stand, gilded altars and a mini War’s Restoration Crystal.
- Expanded storage: New storage options include a Furniture Trunk, Costume Room storage, Toy Box, Treasure Chest, Armor Chest, Cape Rack, Menagerie and Aquarium.
- Skilling support: New crafting stations and lecterns provide additional support for tablet creation and other skilling activities.
Construction now features a new progression system that lets players craft furniture for their homes through active or passive training. Leveling up unlocks new recipes, utility upgrades, room layouts, house styles, decorations, and community rewards.
RuneScape is available on PC, Steam, iOS, and Android, with cross-platform progression between PC and mobile. For more on this update and other MMORPG news, check back with Simulation Daily.
