Today, developer Big Ant Studios and publisher Nacon announced the official release date for the next installment in its hard-hitting sports simulation series, Rugby 25, revealing it would be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) on February 13, 2025.
The release of Rugby 25 will coincide with the Six Nations Tournament event, which is the real-life annual international rugby union competition between England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. The game is set to have far more than just those teams, though, as it will feature 140 officially licensed international teams, 150 Club Sides, legendary stadiums, and the world’s most prestigious tournaments.
Rugby 25 was originally released into early access back in June 2024, adding new content each month based on player feedback. You can take a look at a preview of the full release’s gameplay below:
This will be the first installment in the franchise to feature the inclusion of a substantial number of the best women’s rugby teams in the world, including New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, Argentina, Italy, and the USA. There are multiple gameplay modes for both single and multiplayer, as well as a brand new Academy feature.
In the Academy, the community can create and share its own own players, teams, and stadiums. You can then export these into the highly comprehensive career mode that allows players to train their team, plan tournaments, manage rest periods, and develop game strategies to lead their team to victory.
Rugby 25 is currently available, starting at a price point of $29.99. For more information on this and plenty of other sports simulation titles, be sure to check out the rest of Simulation Daily.
