Ratata Arts has revealed that Ratatan, its rhythm-action game that released in early access in September, is getting a major update, Descent of the Dark Ratatan.
Descent of the Dark Ratatan adds new content while also tackling improvements to the UI and UX, and even multiplayer. Some of the details already released on this end include faster (and more stable) matchmaking and new ways to join random rooms.
When it comes to new content, a new chapter will be unlocked once players complete World Five. This will officially be Chapter Two, and players can expect new gameplay challenges.
There’s also Dark Ratatan battles, where players will command Dark Cobuns against the unique mechanics they bring.
Players will also obtain Duo Ratakaruta by reaching certain levels of elemental power in multiple attributes. They’ll also find new legendary accessories, with a new rarity level and random Decorune Effects on them.
A new feature called the Goddess Gacha will also be added. This lets players trade in weapons, accessories, and other items for points. These points can be used to spin for new prizes, including limited items.
A trailer for the Descent of the Dark Ratatan update can be viewed below. It gives a first look at some of the new bosses and mechanics they’ll be bringing with the update.
Players can also check out the screenshots that Ratata Arts shared of the update below:
Descent of the Dark Ratatan will be released for Ratatan on December 25, 2025, on PC. Additionally, Ratatan will be on sale for 15% off during the 2025 Steam Winter Sale, which kicks off tomorrow.
