Today, Devolver Digital officially released its highly anticipated zombie checkpoint simulator, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, in full for PC.
Since releasing its demo back in March 2025, 2 million people have played the demo for Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, with another 1.3 million adding it to their Steam wishlist. The simulator places players in the shoes of a government agent stationed at a critical checkpoint in the midst of the chaos of a zombie apocolypse.
In order to maintain the safety of everyone around you, players are tasked with screening survivors, managing resources, and making gut-wrenching moral decisions as they head up a government quarantine zone to keep citizens safe from the zombie apocalypse taking place right outside of their fortified walls. You’ll need to juggle food, fuel, and defense systems, fending off the zombie hordes with armed drones or your personal with your sidearm, and decide who to trust.
The full release of Quarantine Zone: The Last Check adds plenty of new features from the demo, including:
- Portable X-ray to scan a person’s internal organs for signs of infection
- Metiascope that lets you inspect people’s eyes for signs of the virus
- Medical reflex hammer
- Examine survivors with unknown symptoms in the laboratory to discover dangerous new signs of the virus
- Send zombies to a cage and feed them corpses
- Updated base management interface, oversee things from a bird’s eye perspective
- Improvements to defense systems
There have also been many quality-of-life improvements to enhance performance and overall gameplay quality.
Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is available now on Steam for a 10% launch discount, or via Xbox Game Pass PC, for $17.99 ($19.99 originally). For more information on this and other Devolver Digital titles, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
