Today, Krafton released the next major patch for its hit battle royale shooter, PUBG: Battlegrounds. Update 35.2 introduces destructible terrain elements, unifies gameplay systems, and implements many quality-of-life improvements.
PUBG: Battlegrounds update 35.2 is currently only available today on PC, though the console launch is set to launch on May 22 for PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S. This is just one of the many steps the developers have on their 2025 roadmap, as they look to modernize the player experience to maintain the relevance of the 2017 title.
Destructible elements on the Taego map is one of the first notable physical changes coming alongside the update, as the environment can now be physically altered during combat. Grenades, mortars, C4, and the Panzerfaust can now reshape entire sections of the map, adding another element of strategy to cover and attacking.

A pickaxe has also been added to your destructible fun. Now, players can manually dig and modify the terrain more quietly, using it to sneak up on players and make positioning and map control that much more vital.
Gameplay unification is also coming across all maps, with new features like vehicle camouflage, vending machines, destructible pots, and looting, providing a little extra incentive to explore each location. Other small balances include reworking the C4 deployable, speeding up the inflatable boat, and making the Flare Gun more user-friendly.
