Today, 5minlab released its second official demo for its upcoming strategy simulator, Private Military Manager, which will be available from January 20 until January 27. It will also come back as a part of next month’s Steam Next Fest and will be playable from February 24 until March 3.

The second demo for Private Military Manager introduces an all-new Free Play Mode. As the name suggests, this mode lets players pick missions freely and customize their gameplay experience to their liking.

Free Play Mode will feature scenarios from Story Mode, which is also returning after being introduced in the first demo, which came out on Steam in September 2024. In both modes, players are tasked with creating and leading their own private military company, recruiting new mercenaries, planning training schedules, managing rewards, and overseeing equipment and weapons.

After you’ve done the work crafting your strategies, you’ll be able to watch them unfold in action via challenging and unique missions. While combat is mostly automatic and based on these pre-established choices, you’ll also be able to monitor and adjust your approach in real-time.

Private Military Manager will feature various mercenaries, each of which has unique abilities and traits that can be unlocked and acquired. In total, there are up to 194 perks and 81 types of weapons and armor that can be chosen to help create the best approach for each specific mission.

Private Military Manager is currently under development and is targeting an early access release window of Q2 2025 on Steam. For more information on this and other sim titles, be sure to check out the rest of Simulation Daily.
