Today, Pompeii: The Legacy developer and publisher Siscia Games announced that they’ll be holding the first official Steam Playtest for the upcoming simulation title, which will take place in mid-March.
Pompeii: The Legacy is an upcoming strategy simulation title that allows players to model and add upon one of the most famous and tragic locations in Italy. Players are placed in the shoes of the head of a Roman family overseeing Pompeii’s reconstruction over several generations.
The game revolves around intricate city-building systems, resource management, and historical atmosphere, boasting unique city-building mechanics, immersive visuals, and strategic depth when it comes to its gameplay. - Polished Visuals – Textures, lighting, and environmental details will be enhanced for greater immersion.
- Improved Gameplay Flow – Construction will be slightly faster, and bonuses & upgrades will play a larger role.
- Expanded Building Options – More structures will be available, including mines and metal processing buildings to support the city’s economy.
- Citizen Needs & Hygiene – New buildings like barber shops and public latrines will be introduced to improve city life.
- Trade System – Not featured in the footage, but fully implemented in the Playtest for a deeper economic system.
- Military & City Defense (Coming Later) – Planned for post-Playtest, features like walls, soldiers, and combat will add another layer of strategy.
