Pokémon has announced that a Pokémon Presents presentation will be held on February 27, the official Pokémon Day on the National Day Calendar.
It’s pretty typical for Pokémon Presents to come on Pokémon Day. In the past, The Pokémon Company has celebrated with Presents that cover game updates across the franchise, including live service games like Pokémon Unite and Pokémon Masters EX. There could even be news about Pokémon TCG Pocket.
Pokémon Presents are also where new game announcements are made. Many fans are hopeful that this particular Pokémon Presents will include a few new game and/or remake announcements.
For example, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the next Pokémon Legends game, was first announced at the Pokémon Day Presents last year. That’s the last that fans have heard of the game, and it’s supposed to be released this year. It’s very likely that fans will get news on this next Legends game.
There are a lot of theories as to what else will be announced on February 27. The mainline Pokémon games have nothing on the radar, which means it’s possible that fans will learn about the next generation of Pokémon.
There’s also no news about upcoming remakes, which means there could be some revealed. This could be in the form of a Pokémon Black and White remake (which is the next generation due for a remake).
Additionally, a lot of Pokémon fans have been frustrated by the lack of classic Pokémon games available on the Nintendo Switch. Despite having emulators up to the Game Boy Advance on the Switch, none of the original generations are available on the console.
However, the community has been begging for these classic games to be made available on the Switch for years now. There’s no guarantee that this next Pokémon Presents will include an announcement for these (though there’s no harm in keeping our fingers crossed).
Of course, the Switch 2 Direct coming in April will inevitably affect what’s coming. Pokémon is one of Nintendo’s flagship franchises, so a new console will almost certainly see new Pokémon games.
Other Pokémon Day celebrations include the Year of Eevee at the Pokémon Center. Additionally, there will be a flying-Tera type Eevee available in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Players can get it by getting a distribution code from GameStop or Best Buy.
Pokémon GO is also joining in on the celebrations. PokéStops will feature Eevee, Glaceon, and Leafon, starting now until February 27. Plus, Mossy and Glacial Lures are being added to the AR game the week of February 24, giving players the chance to evolve Eevee into Glaceon and Leafeon instead of just catching them.
There will also be a plethora of events, too. Official Pokémon League stores will host Play! Pokémon events on Pokémon Day. There, players will have a chance to get the Pokémon Day 2025 exclusive promo card, which features Sylveon.
Additionally, Pokémon has partnered with gamescom latam 2025, bringing more Pokémon celebrations for those attending the event.
Fans can tune into the Pokémon Presents on February 27 on the official YouTube or Twitch channels.
