Pokémon Pokopia puts players in the shoes of a Ditto who’s transformed into a human. They’ll meet other Pokémon, teaming up together to create a Pokémon utopia.

There aren’t too many details quite yet, but the trailer shows the player learning moves from other Pokémon to decorate and nurture the land. The trailer from the September 12, 2025, Nintendo Direct also shows several biomes, such as grassy areas, the beach, and

There’s also farming and interior decorating, along with a day and night cycle of some sort. There’s also a brief moment that shows two Ditto players, which could mean that the game will be multiplayer.

Some of the Pokémon shown off in the game include Ditto, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Vaporeon, Hitmonchan, Scyther, and Pikachu.

Players who preorder Pokémon Pokopia will get an adorable Ditto rug that can be used inside their home.

Pokémon Pokopia will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s available to pre-order now, both digitally and physically at most major retailers.

As a reminder, physical Switch 2 games can be Game-Key Cards. These have special key icons on the packaging and the cartridge itself, and they’re basically a physical game code key to download the game from the Nintendo Shop.

Nintendo has released a video explaining this at the same time it announced the release date for Pokémon Pokopia, which could be a sign that most, or all, of the game’s physical cartridges are Game-Keys. Additionally, the video shows a bit of Pokémon Pokopia itself:
