Today, the PlayStation blog showed off an exclusive new Astro Bot DualSense controller to celebrate the upcoming release of the next game in the series, which is set for September 6, 2024. While simple, the sleek and cool blue design looks exactly like the little robot was placed into the controller, even featuring the eyes on the PS5 controller’s touchpad.

As it does with many other games, the Dualsense controller will immerse players into the world of Astro Bot thanks to a combination of unique haptic feedback features. For example, while using the bulldog Jetpack, you can feel the thruster vibrating against your fingers, coinciding with every animation that takes place in Astro Bot seamlessly. This is the case for each new power-up, which gets its own special expression that can be experienced through your fingertips.

Motion controls will also be a staple of Astro Bot, as you’ll use the limited edition Dualsense as your vehicle, known in the game as the Dual Speeder. You can see an example of its design below.

Pre-orders for the limited edition Astro Bot DualSense are available a little over a week from today, as they start August 9, 2024, at 7 am PT in the U.S. and 10 am. Anyone interested in getting their hands on it can do so directly through direct.playstation.com, as well as from select retailers, for a price point of $79.99.
