Today Frontier Developments revealed the first gameplay of its upcoming amusement park management simulator Planet Coaster 2.
The video, released alongside a development blog post, mostly focuses on one of the big features of the new game, which is water parks, including pools, water slides, lifeguards, and all you need to make your visitors enjoy a day in the sun.
As usual, you can build pools and body flumes can be built piece by piece, letting you express your creativity in the shape and grandiosity. Flumes have different start pieces for further customization and to look even more awesome.
Of course, you can’t have water parks without water, so the developers worked hard on the engine to make sure that the water itself looks great and quite realistic, even within the iconic stylized look of the game.
That being said, you can actually customize the water itself, including the color, to make it attractive for your visitors.
You won’t just have flumes to place around your pools, but there will also be plenty more attractions, including six-person raft flumes, plughole, sphere, and boomerang rides.
You can watch the video in its entirety below, and start stretching the wings (or the fins) of your imagination while thinking about the kinds of parks and slides you’ll build when the game launches later this year.
Planet Coaster 2 was announced a couple of weeks ago and it will release in fall 2024 for PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
