Kinetic Games gave Phasmophobia fans an inside look at what’s coming to the horror game in 2025 with Development Preview 18, teasing multiple overhauls and some new content to change the game.
First off, the Photos page in the Journal is being replaced with Media. This will include photos, videos, and even new sound recordings (more on that below). This tab will help players earn extra rewards.
The Media tab will be split into three sections for each type of media. Plus, there won’t be any more quality checks for these. Instead, players are rewarded handsomely for their first “capture” of anything. Subsequent captures of the same thing will give much less rewards.
Of course, sound recordings need Sound Recorders, which devs talked a bit about. There will be three tiers to Sound Recorders, though only the first two have been revealed. The device will show where sounds may pop up, too. As long as players are within range to capture the sound, the device will do so automatically.
Media isn’t the only thing getting overhauled — Bleasdale Farmhouse is getting reworked, too.
A new layout, new areas, and a graphics overhaul are all part of the rework. There are small descriptions and details about each released picture in the Development Preview itself. Pictures of the Dining Room, Living Room, Tea Room, and Trophy Room have all been released, and players can view them below:
Grafton Farmhouse is also getting reworked, though there’s not much about it yet. In the meantime, players can just look at the image below:
Phasmophobia has been out on PC for quite some time, but its recent December 2025 release on PlayStation 5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X|S was incredibly successful. It hit 1 million copies sold in 35 days.
