A new Palworld update seeks to balance the monster-taming-slash-survival game while also fixing several bugs.
Developers posted the patch notes for v0.3.4 on Discord. Most of these updates and fixes were for balancing and bugs, but one world setting was added. Players can now adjust the drop interval for meteorite and supply drops.
The actual balance updates start with buffing Pals that aren’t on base. Pals take 25% less damage overall, and enemies on the Oil Rig have less firepower. Lyleen’s healing from its skill was also adjusted.
Base balances include more power from large generators and a lower technology level for coal mines. Tomato and lettuce also have increased production. This makes ramping up bases easier and should feel a bit smoother than before.
Food merchants were also balanced; they now sell meat and buy food for higher prices.
Several fixes aimed directly at bases rolled out. One of the biggest changes is better notifications when a Pal can’t reach something. Specifically, on breeding farms, Pals will warp directly to the farm if it can’t find a path. Several changes help Pals avoid getting stuck in general.
Several major bug fixes were also implemented. Prior to the update, a bug was causing some players to be locked out of achievements. That’s been fixed, and the community is particularly happy to see it.
Other bug fixes target similar issues as the balance changes. A bug that caused the Oil Rig’s treasure chest to disappear has been fixed.
Specifically, if the world settings are adjusted to decrease the number of Pals working on base while more Pals are on the base, the extra Pals will go back in the Pal box. Before, they’d just disappear and be gone forever (RIP Katress).
The Sakurajima Tower was supposed to be a neutral area where no bases could be built, but players were able to anyway. This has now been fixed.
Several text issues were fixed as well, including problems with the traditional Chinese version. Some problems still exist in that specific version of Palworld, but Pocketpair is continuing to fix them.
