Maxwell Zierath, the Director of Production for Palia, has revealed Palia Path, a new, regular roadmap for the cozy life simulation MMO that gives players a look at the content coming to the game and what the team is working on for future updates.
The first Palia Path focuses on the Radiance Rising update, or patch 0.192, which is releasing tomorrow.
The first of these new things coming is the Piksii Blossom Bounce, an event where players can work with friends to collect new flowers in the Elderwood. These flowers can then be used to give players options to bring the Edlerwood aesthetic to their homes.
New quests are also part of the Radiance Rising Update, including a questline called Hunt for Prismbeard’s Treasure. There’s also a questline being added that introduces players to their first free courier pet.
Pets help players by bringing resources back to their home when their pack is full. Additionally, storage limits are increasing for those who like to be prepared for anything and everything.
The Radiance Rising Update will also include new plushes, decor sets, and the long-awaited hedges. Of course, bug fixes will also be a part of the update.
More exciting things are planned for future updates. Animal Husbandry has been a highly anticipated feature of the cozy game. The feature will include mechanics like animal traits, color schemes, and more. The Palia team is hoping to release the feature later this year.
The team is also looking at new ways to construct houses, including multi-level ones. Right now, the system for homes is cumbersome to work with, which has made creating new content difficult. However, more housing lines are planned, and players will find out more later this year.
When it comes to narrative quests, the Palia team is working on a feature where they’ll be able to release smaller quests every patch. This won’t be available for the next few patches.
New friendship quests are actively being worked on for Ulfe, along with a larger main story quest that goes even deeper into the Elderwood.
Game patches are also planned to be more aligned with the season they’re released in. This includes things like festivals, aesthetics, and, of course, plushes. The goal here is to release a larger seasonal patch (which also coincides with the release of these new Palia Path roadmaps) with smaller patches throughout each season.
All of the features discussed above are either coming to Palia with the Radiance Rising Update or coming soon. The next ones are features that are very early in development, but are planned for the long term.
The first of these long-term plans is co-op housing plots. There are several problems for developers to work out to make this happen, but it’s something they’re working on and plan to have eventually.
The new adventure zone is also in development, though Maxwell couldn’t go into detail about what this will look like yet. Players can check out a quick view of the Palia Path below:
